The Journey to Opening Daniel Craig Hair Salon in Oakville

After making the big move to Canada, it didn’t take long to dive headfirst into the exciting challenge of opening the Daniel Craig Hair Salon.

Within just a week and a half of landing, I had already found the building. My first thought? "Wow, this is massive—way too big for me!" But, after a couple of days of overthinking, I decided to just go for it!

Then came the real challenge: finding a builder or contractor in a new country, Oakville specifically. Can you ever trust a builder? I wasn’t sure—especially when you’re navigating the whole process in a different country. But, I got lucky and was recommended a reliable contractor. We started tearing down walls and rebuilding, but it wasn't without its challenges. Oakville, and Ontario in general, has a lot of red tape when it comes to construction and renovations.

However, I have to give credit to the Town of Oakville. Once I reached out, they were incredibly helpful, connecting me with the right people and guiding me through the process. While it’s been a crazy ride, full of highs and lows, I’ve loved every minute of it.

I’ve learned so much about this beautiful place, and while there have been both good and not-so-good moments, it’s all part of the journey. I can’t wait for everyone to see the salon and appreciate it as much as I do. My goal was to bring something different to Oakville, with the clients’ comfort at the forefront, and I hope that comes across when you see it for yourself!
